LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man is accused of kidnapping, carjacking and robbing a man he met on a dating app.
John Wolf, 45, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple charges, including kidnapping, first-degree robbery, carjacking and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.Â
According to his arrest citation, Wolf met the victim on Grindr in July. Police said the two had sex before Wolf pulled out a handgun and demanded money.
Wolf is also accused of taking the victim's PlayStation 5 and Meta glasses before forcing him into his own vehicle.
Police said Wolf then forced the victim to drive to an ATM, threatening to kill him if he did not cooperate.
At the ATM, the victim withdrew $300 and gave it to Wolf, according to court records.
Police said Wolf then drove the victim's vehicle to another location before getting out and running away.
After the incident, Wolf sent several "threatening" messages to the victim, the citation said, including one message that said the victim "would be dead before they (the cops) can ever get me."
After the victim reported Wolf's behavior to police, officers found Wolf Aug. 12 riding a motorcycle, according to court records. Police said Wolf initially tried to flee but he was eventually pulled over and arrested.
Court records also confirm Wolf is a convicted felon with previous manslaughter and abuse convictions.
Wolf is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing Aug. 27.
