LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A $4 million renovation project is underway at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear's Office said in a news release Tuesday that the project includes 39 new full-service campsites, including eight pull-through sites, and the construction of a modern bathhouse.

“These $4 million in upgrades at My Old Kentucky Home State Park’s campground reflect our dedication to upgrading experiences at our state parks, giving Kentuckians and visitors from across the country and around the world even more reasons to visit the commonwealth,” Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Russ Meyer said in a news release Tuesday. “The improvements will help bring My Old Kentucky Home into the New Kentucky Home era. We look forward to continuing our progress in updating Parks facilities across the commonwealth.”

The state park near downtown Bardstown includes a historic 19th-century mansion, gardens, 18-hole golf course, outdoor amphitheater and more.

The $4 million investment for the renovation came from $40 million in state funding for campground improvements approved by the General Assembly in 2024.
