LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was rescued from a burning apartment building in Louisville's Shelby Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning after four other evacuated.

The Louisville Fire Department said the fire started just after midnight in the 400 block of Marret Avenue, just off South Preston Street and near the fire department's Engine 15 fire house.

Capt. Donovan Sims said one person was rescued from the second floor and treated on scene for smoke inhalation. The other four occupants evacuated on their own.

Sims said it took 15 minutes for about 35 firefighters to get control of the fire. No one was hurt, but the American Red Cross is working with the five displaced adults and their dog to find shelter.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
