LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Weeks after nearly a foot a snow and a layer of ice coated much of the Louisville area, a backlog of mail is still stuck at the main post office in Louisville, leaving customers frustrated with things not being delivered.

Dozens of complaints for more than a week now tell the same story: Packages show they're stuck at the Gardiner Lane Post Office in Louisville with no signs of when it'll be delivered. The United States Postal Service isn't giving much information on the cause of the problem or when it'll be resolved.

Dave, Fern Creek resident. said he just wants to get his check.

"It came to Louisville on the 8th. It was sent on the 7th. It's been sitting in town here since the 8th," he said on Facebook. "What can I say? This check is not a priority, I guess. I told him 'You could've sent it Pony Express and gotten here faster.' I mean, Lexington is 75 miles away."

Tanya Moreno Fluke, who lives in Spencer County, said her mail is processed in Louisville, and she and others are frustrated they can't get their packages and mail.

"I have dozens of boxes that have not been delivered in about 3 weeks," she said. "The only thing that it says on my tracking is it's weather."

At the USPS Regional Facility on Gardiner Lane, there are mail semitrucks pulling in and out. You can see packages inside the trailers. Packaging tracking for dozens of people show their mail is still at the USPS Regional Facility on Gardiner Lane, many since early January.

"Check out the line of semis going into 40231 vs. the lack of semis leaving 40231," Alan Christopher Vaesa said on Facebook. "I've had weeks of missing and delayed mail. Multiple times the USPS Missing mail website is crashed."

"Yes. I was waiting on a package from December 27," Carla Schmid said on Facebook. "The (USPS) driver I have said they had a lot of trailers with packages in them. That they couldn't get to. It's crazy. Still waiting on one from January 3. Hopefully I have it soon. Just ridiculous."

"I have 8 packages stuck in Louisville," Belinda Lents said on Facebook. "The longest being there since December 5. The other 7 have been there since the first week of January. Two are prescriptions. I have just given up and decided they'll never get here. I've been trying to ask those I'm ordering from if I can pay extra to ship a different way and not use USPS."

"It's very frustrating because I do have a part time business where I ship things and receive things and that has held that up," Fluke said on Facebook. "I have a lot of things that I need for my business that are coming my way and I haven't received it."

Susan Wright, strategic communications specialist with USPS, didn't answer several questions asked Tuesday but offered a written statement in response.

"We apologize for any inconvenience to customers as we recover delivery operations due to recent severe weather," Wright wrote. "For questions about delivery, customers should visit usps.com and click on "Contact us" at the bottom of our homepage, or utilize this direct web address: https://usps.force.com/emailus/s/. They may also request assistance through the official X account of the United States Postal Service @USPSHelp or private message on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/USPS.

"We are processing mail and packages as quickly as possible. The Louisville Processing and Distribution Center serves the following 3-digit ZIP Code areas – 400, 401, 402, 427, and 471."
