LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 69-year-old man is dead after witnesses reported he was "in distress in the water" at Green River Lake State Park over the weekend.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a post on the Campbellsville Fire & Rescue Facebook page.
Witnesses told responding firefighters the subject and his vehicle were missing in the water. Three divers the lake and located the victim's body approximately 110 feet from the boat ramp, in about 15 feet of water.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Campbellsville Taylor County EMS. His name was not immediately released.
Divers also recovered the victim's vehicle from the water.
A total of 19 firefighters, including three dive team members, responded.
The incident is being investigated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement and the Taylor County Coroner's Office.
