LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local police department recently discovered another issue with Kentucky's new vehicle registration system.
The Bardstown Police Department said it has noticed several registrations on vehicles that don't match registration receipts.
Police want drivers to take a look at their license plate and registration paperwork. The number on the receipt, plate and tag decal should all match.
The department said it appears to be a problem for vehicles that have been recently purchased or registrations that have recently been renewed.
In January, Kentucky switched over to a new system called KAVIS. Since then, county clerk's offices have been dealing with major issues, including a dealer paperwork backlog that led to the shutdown of two offices in Jefferson County this week.
There have also been problems reported with the new system matching up with the Riverlink tolling system.
