LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Frustration is growing with long waits at the Driver Licensing Regional Office on Broadway in Louisville.

Over the past few days, the Nia Center has had a long line of people waiting to get a new driver's license. One day this week, the line extended to the second floor of the building.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said when it is fully staffed, there are nine employees. However, KYTC said it is in the process of filling three more spots.

Friday saw shorter lines and a shorter wait for some.

"In the past, it has been kind of long before. Sundays are different than others, but yeah I'm glad that it's (an) easy transaction today, you know, saves me some time," said Alexis Wagner.

Metro Council member Tammy Hawkins is hosting a press conference Monday to address the issues.
