LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Brooks Houck, the man charged with killing missing Bardstown woman Crystal Rogers, is classified as a maximum security inmate at the Hardin County Detention Center.

According to the jail, inmates classified as maximum security are to have their cell checked every 20 minutes.

All inmates charged with murder charges are placed in restraints while outside their cells. Houck is charged with murder and tampering with evidence.

Visitation hours are Sunday through Thursday, and eligible visits can only last 20 minutes.

Houck was arrested and charged on Sept. 27, after being indicted by a grand jury on Sept. 20.

The jail denied WDRB News' open records request for visitor and call logs for Houck, who remains behind bars on a $10 million cash bond as he awaits trial for Rogers' murder.

Less than a week after his arrest, Houck's attorneys filed a motion asking a judge to lower his bond to $500,000 with GPS monitoring if he was released. But a judge denied that request, expressing concern for the safety of other people involved in the case if Houck were to post a reduced bond and be released on home incarceration.

Houck's attorneys have since said they will ask the Kentucky Court of Appeals to review the lower court's ruling.
