LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville is once again receiving national recognition for having some of the best hotels and restaurants in the country.
Six hotels and one restaurant have earned AAA's coveted Four Diamond designations for 2025.
In a news release Tuesday, AAA called the establishments "travel gems." AAA's Four Diamond list includes more than 1,700 Four Diamond hotels and over 600 Four Diamond restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Out of all of the AAA hotels and restaurants, only 4.8% have earned the Four Diamond ranking.
Six Louisville hotels and one restaurant made the list this year, and many of them are well-known to locals.

"Four Diamond properties provide guests the assurance that they can expect some of the most premier amenities available," Jim Garrity, director of public affairs, AAA East Central, said in a written statement. "These hotels and restaurants meet the high standards of AAA inspectors and are committed to providing every guest with personalized experiences and attentive service."
To earn the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation, hotels and restaurants must pass a rigorous evaluation that includes unannounced, in-person inspections, anonymous overnight stays for hotels, and, finally, review by a panel of experts as an additional step to ensure credibility. All AAA Diamond Program hotels and restaurants are re-evaluated annually.
