LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Cliftons Pizza Co., a longtime fixture of the Clifton neighborhood, is closed permanently as of Wednesday, according to a statement by owner Mark Langley posted on the business’ door and its social media accounts.
“It’s simply time for me to take a step back and take care of my personal life,” Langley said in the statement, without elaborating.
Langley did not immediately return a message on the business' voicemail.
Langley opened the pizza joint at 2230 Frankfort Avenue with a buddy in 1990 while in college at the University of Louisville and ended up dropping out of school to run it, according to a 2015 story by Louisville Business First.
