LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Taylor Swift is back! She has returned to the United States and will be in Indianapolis this upcoming weekend for a weekend full of shows.
With her return comes the return of scammers, unfortunately, as well as fake tickets.
One man was looking to buy tickets to surprise his stepdaughter with. With resale sites showing tickets for $2,000 and up, an offer of two tickets for $800 was one he couldn't refuse.
He transferred the money through a money transfer service to a bank account provided by the seller. Within minutes, his money was gone, everything was blocked, the Facebook page was deleted, and the post was taken down.
Several others tried to buy tickets from what looked like their Facebook friend selling them online, but turns out, their page got hacked and it really wasn't them.
The Better Business Bureau suggests to only buy tickets from reputable resellers who take credit cards and offer a money back guarantee in the event the ticket is fraudulent.
Legitimate ticket sites besides Ticketmaster include Stubhub, Vivid Seats, and Game Time.
If someone you know if offering tickets on social media, talk to them in person first to make sure it really is them.
