LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was inevitable. More streaming services are following the lead of Netflix and cracking down on password sharing.

Millions of Netflix subscribers were very unhappy when Netflix announced it was ending free password sharing.

Max, formerly HBO Max, just announced it is adding an "extra member add-on" button, which will let the primary account holder share with family members outside their home for an extra $7.99 a month.

Since Netflix increased its earnings and did not lose any subscribers, analysts say more and more streamers will be doing it.

In addition to Netflix and Max, Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock have followed suit. Many families with kids in college are feeling the burden.

So what can you do? Check into bundles that provide the service for free, such as Spectrum Cable, Verizon, or even an Instacart membership.
