You would think that insurance will cover you in the event of an accident, but it all depends on what your policy covers and how much.
A woman was sitting in her home one day when she heard a crash. An out of control car came off the street and hit her house.
The repair estimate was over $30,000, and the insurance company was only offering to pay $30,000 - leaving her with almost $4,000 out of pocket to pay.
If you think you are getting a lowball offer from your insurance company, offer to negotiate or consider talking with a lawyer with experience in that field.
