LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A building in downtown Louisville once home to Fund for the Arts will soon welcome tourists to the city.
The new owner of the four-story, 20,000-square-foot Mary Bingham Jane Norton building on West Main Street plans to convert it into short-term rentals, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.Â
Dan Noonan told LBF the second, third and fourth levels will be renovated into five residential units with 13 bedrooms that can house up to 40 residents. The first floor and mezzanine, which total 4,500 square feet, are available for lease.
"(We) are looking for an anchor tenant that provides some good synergy with the residential units," Noonan told LBF. "With 40 (plus) built-in visitors at a time, I think there is some real opportunity to find a great partner that fits in with the development."
It's still unclear how much the owner plans to invest in the project, or when it will be complete.
The new owner bought the building in June for nearly $1.5 million.
Fund for the Arts moved into the Metro United Way building on East Broadway.
