Woman dies after being hit by car in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood

Police say the driver fled after hitting the woman Sunday night near North 22nd Street.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A woman is dead after being hit by a car in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police responded a little before 8 p.m. Sunday to a report of a pedestrian hit in the 2200 block of Cleveland Avenue near N. 22nd Street, department spokesperson Matt Sanders said.

Sanders said officers found an adult woman with multiple injuries at the scene. EMS arrived to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.

Police said the woman was hit by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene immediately after, and police are working with witnesses to get an accurate description of the vehicle.
