CRESTWOOD, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new space in Crestwood makes it easier for people to shop local and support small businesses.
Lindsay Stivers, co-owner of Crestwood Mercantile, said it's been a long-haul. Running a family business has been a lifelong goal she shares with her mother.

"We always said when she retired it would be fun to have a booth space together," she said.
In 2020, Stivers met fellow entrepreneur Karen Delaney. They had booths at the Middletown Peddler's Mall and she said that's when they began dreaming.
Three years later, their dream of a bigger space is coming true with Crestwood Mercantile. They have everything from furniture, home décor, crafts and gifts.
"I think you could walk the building five times and find something new every time," Delaney said.
The duo is now helping more than 60 vendors from across Kentucky and southern Indiana grow in the three-story building. On top of retail options, the space plans to highlight local bakers and their treats.
"I think that this is one of the best things to happen to this community," vendor Lauren Reynolds said.
Small business owners like Reynolds have never had a physical space to sell her antiques before.

"I'm nervous, but so excited," Reynolds said. "I think my heart is just going to be jumping with joy and excitement all day."
While the Crestwood shop is making its debut ahead of the holidays, Stivers hopes the space will be around for generations to come.
"It's just wonderful to see families coming around this to cheerlead each other on," Stivers said.
Crestwood Mercantile will have its grand opening this weekend with doors opening Saturday at 10 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m.
