LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local college just joined a program designed to shift opportunities for students into overdrive.

The programĀ trains students at Jefferson Community and Technical College to become automotive technicians in just two years.

It's part of a partnership with Fiat/Chrysler designed to train thousands of students across the country every year.

It's a win for students and for dealerships in dire need of technicians.

"It's amazing,"Ā said JCTC student, Kyndall Fulkerson. "After my first semester, I was able to get a job at a dealership and just jump right in. I love it there, so i'll continue to learn more at work and at school."

JCTC just started offering the Career Automotive Program for the first time for the fall 2018 semester.
