LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A longtime Highlands clothing boutique has closed its doors after more than two decades in Louisville.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Pitaya permanently closed its store at 955 Baxter Ave after 24 years in the city.
A sign posted outside the store announced the closure.
"We are incredibly grateful to our customers for your loyalty and support over the years," the company said in the notice. "It has meant so much to be part of the Louisville community for more than two decades."
Pitaya opened its first store in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1990. The women's clothing retailer said it gets new merchandise every week and sells its own line of clothing made in the U.S.
Customers with remaining store credit can use it at other Pitaya locations, including the company's flagship store in Bloomington, which is now the closest to Louisville.
The boutique did not disclose the reason for the closure. Pitaya did not respond to a request for comment.
