LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Healing Place celebrated a major fundraising goal Wednesday with a classic condiment.
Huge buckets of mayo were dumped right on two leaders in the organization.
The Healing Place provides services for those struggling with substance abuse, along with emergency shelter for the homeless.
It just surpassed a $350,000 fundraising goal. The money will help fund detox programs and overnight shelter during the coldest months of the year.
"We appreciate everyone that helped us out," Chief Mission Advancement Officer Marla Highbaugh said. "All of our donors this year, all of our community partners. I mean we can't do what we do without the community which is very compassionate."
The Healing Place helped more than 9,000 people last year.
