MOOKIE BETS BOWLY TOURNY

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two MLB stars traded in their gloves for bowling shoes in Louisville this weekend.

Los Angeles Dodgers' star Mookie Betts and Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II visited Strike and Spare on Phillips Lane as part of Friends for Fun Mixer tournament. Members of the National Bowling Association participated in the event.

The event that went from Jan. 12-14 raised money for local young people and programs that grow relationships and positivity.Ā 

"Bowling is what we do and we are passionate about the sport of bowling," said Ronald Simms Jr., president of the National Bowling Association. "It's something that we love and it's a way to help the youth grown and get involved with the sport but also for us it is a way to give back."

The National Bowling Association has been around since 1939.Ā 

Betts is a 7-time all-star who has won two World Series and an American League MVP Award with the Boston Red Sox. Harris won the National League Rookie of the Year in 2022.
