LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Updated renderings reported by Louisville Business First offer a new look at the proposed $250 million entertainment district planned near Louisville Slugger Field.
Announced in 2024, the proposed Louisville Entertainment District is a 500,000-square-foot development planned to combine office, retail, restaurant hospitality and entertainment uses. It would be built on top of the city-owned parking lot just east of the baseball stadium.
The $250 million project, wedged into a parking lot just east of the baseball stadium and southwest of the Interstate 65 interchange, calls for 225 apartments, a boutique hotel with 170 rooms, office and meeting spaces, retail shops, a new entrance to Slugger Field and on-site parking.
The project would also add more parking for fans to come to Bats games with the addition of a 520-spot parking garage.
LBF reported Mayor Craig Greenberg and his office plan to seek local and state approvals this summer. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
