LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- While Louisville is known for bourbon, a new local brand of Gin took the spotlight on Saturday.
West End Gin from Dr. Dawn and Stacey Wade officially launched. The premium gin was created and bottled in Louisville with 12 ingredients and notes of orange and citrus peel.
The Black-owned, female led business will donate $1 from every bottle sold to support local communities.
A launch party was held at Louisville Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
"Both of our gins, the original as well as the Rosanne edition are based off of different botanicals including roses, so what better place to launch than to launch at the botanical gardens," Dr. Dawn Wade said.
The event featured music, food and gift bags.
