LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The site of one of Louisville's most tragic events is up for sale.

Old National Bank listed its former downtown headquarters, on the first floor of the Preston Pointe building, for $1.5 million, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

The entire building at 333 East Main St. isn't for sale, just the bank's former 12,665-square-foot first-floor offices.

The proposed sale comes more than three years after a former employee opened fire inside the office, killing five people: Joshua Barrick, Deana Eckert, Juliana Farmer, Jim Tutt and Tommy Elliott in April 2023.

Eight others, including two Louisville Metro Police officers, were shot and hurt. One of those officers, Nick Wilt, was honored earlier this year when he medically retired from LMPD.

Old National Bank shooting victims

These five people died after a gunman opened fire at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville on Monday, April 10, 2023.

The Evansville, Indiana-based company said while Old National will always remember the victims of the shooting, the decision to sell was a business one.

"Shortly after the April 2023 tragedy, Old National was blessed with the opportunity to transition our Downtown Louisville operations into the 400 W Market building in the heart of the city. Old National is passionate about the Louisville community, and our commitment to the people we serve here remains strong," Market President Tommy Wallace told LBF. "While we recognize the significance of this location, and we remain committed to forever honoring the memories of those we lost, the decision to sell this facility is part of our ongoing management of real estate and future business needs. Our team members are incredibly grateful to be part of the vibrant energy that makes Downtown Louisville such a great place to live, work, and play."

In 2024, Old National moved to it's newly renovated main office on West Market Street.
