LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A popular Louisville bar and restaurant is purchasing another local spot.

Hauck's on Goss Avenue in the Schnitzelburg neighborhood has been around for more than a century. It recently expanded to purchase neighborhood businesses to create breakfast and pizza ventures.

"We're just trying to create a fun family-friendly environment for the neighborhood or whoever else wants to come around," said Allen Rosenberg, co-owner at Hauck's.

Owners are now expanding even more. They plan to build a seafood restaurant across the street which will be leased by a Germantown woman who already has a successful restaurant in New York City.

Hauck's owners also recently purchased Tim Tam Tavern less than a mile away on Clarks Lane. It will be rebranded with a Honky-tonk atmosphere.

"We looked at it, we liked the layout, thought of a new need for the neighborhood," Rosenberg said. "It is going to be called "Dirty Bird" where the focus is going to be fried chicken and Bluegrass music. Figured there is a good need for fried chicken in Louisville.

Dirty Bird is set to open in October and the new seafood restaurant plans to open in around six months.
