LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new immediate care center is coming to Park DuValle to expand health care access to people living in Louisville's west end.

Park DuValle Community Health Centers has begun construction on an immediate care center at its location at 3015 Wilson Ave. An unveiling ceremony was held Tuesday to show renderings for the new space.

It will provide patients a broader range of health care services. Some of those services include preventative care like examinations, vaccinations, screening tests and on-site diagnostic services that will allow patients to access lab testing and imaging services.

"When immediate illnesses or injuries happen, it is not always possible to make an appointment and sometimes it is not serious enough to go to an ER," Dr. Swannie Jett, CEO of Park DuValle Community Health Centers, said in a news release. "We want to offer our patients a convenient option to see a provider when they have an unscheduled need."

Construction is already underway. It is expected to open in two months and will treat patients even if they don't have insurance or the ability to pay.
