LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tyson Foods, Inc. is recalling around 30,000 pounds of chicken due to contamination, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Tyson Brand said the frozen, fully cooked chicken "Fun Nuggets" were voluntarily recalled.
The frozen chicken patties were produced on Sept. 5, 2023. According to a release, the 29-ounce plastic bag packages containing "Tyson FULLY COOKED FUN NUGGETS BREADED SHAPED CHICKEN PATTIES” with a best if used by date of Sept. 4, 2024, and lot codes 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209 and 2483BRV0210 are subject to recall. The product subject to recall bears establishment number "P-7211" located on the back on the package.
Those packages were distributed to Kentucky, Alabama, California, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin for distribution on the retail level.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) received complaints that the products had small metal pieces in the chicken patties. There was one report of a minor oral injury from eating the food, but no additional reports have come to the FSIS.
