CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux has opened its first restaurant in Clarksville.

The award-winning brand's newest restaurant is located at 970 East Lewis and Clark Parkway, off exit 4 on Interstate 65.

Walk-On's franchise owners, Todd Johnson and Wade Kornblith of Trident Hospitality, partnered with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks to open the Lewis & Clark location. Johnson has served as an owner, operator and landlord for multiple restaurant and hospitality properties in Indiana and Florida since 1991.

Brooks was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and currently serves as a discipline appeals officer for the NFL Players Association.

Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees joined the team as an investor and co-owner in 2015.

An 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday kicked things off at the Clarksville location. Brooks and other executive team members attended the ceremony.

At Walk-On's, each dish is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, according to a news release. The diverse menu features unique twists on game-day staples and upscale takes on Louisiana mainstays, such as Crawfish Étouffée, Duck & Andouille  Gumbo and Doughnut Bread Pudding made with Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
