LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Woodford Reserve is releasing a new limited edition bottle just in time for Father's Day.
The bottle of Toasted Bourbon is part of Woodford's annual Distillery Series.
Officials said the bourbon's creation happened by accident when fresh distillate was put into barrels made for already aged Woodford that would normally be called Double Oaked.
Woodford's master distiller decided to leave it in for six years in the less charred and more toasted barrels.
The limited edition bottles are coming soon to select retailers. Half bottles, 375 milliliters, cost $65. It's already available at the distillery.
