LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - These days there seems to be more money for horse owners at Churchill Downs.
The track announced on Tuesday an immediate 10 percent increase in daily purses.
Leaders say it's due to record wagering during Kentucky Derby week and a more profitable spring meet.
Purses for qualifying races will increase starting with the Twilight Thursday racing program this week.
