LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Churchill Downs and Ten20 Craft Brewery announced a partnership Thursday to release a new lager brewed "to honor the legacy and lifestyle of enjoying a day at the races."

The new Churchill Downs Light is a collaboration between the two companies, "crafted with crisp, clean finish and subtle hints of citrus," Churchill Downs said in a news release Thursday.

The 16-ounce cans feature the Twin Spires and a galloping thoroughbred.

"This launch is a toast to community, tradition, and the thrill of the Kentucky Derby," Casey Ramage, vice president of marketing and partnerships at Churchill Downs Racetrack. "We can't wait for fans to enjoy this light lager, whether they're joining us trackside or celebrating at home."

Churchill Downs Light is available now at Ten20, Churchill Downs and "select retailers."

"Creating Churchill Downs Light has been a labor of love—rooted in craftsmanship, community, and celebration," Jim McGuire, co-owner of TEN20 Craft Brewery, said in a news release.. "We set out to brew something approachable and refreshing that embodies the spirit of Churchill Downs, and we're proud to see it come to life alongside an iconic venue like Churchill Downs."

A release party for the beer will be held at Ten20's taproom on East Washington Street in Butchertown at 6 p.m. Friday, April 18.
