LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Mayor Craig Greenberg named a new director for Louisville Parks and Recreation on Friday.
Michelle King will lead the department that oversees the city's parks, pools, community centers and more.
King started with Metro Government in 2005 and previously worked for the Air Pollution Control District.
"I've been a Louisville Metro employee for nearly 20 years. I know the pride that comes from serving your community," she said. "And I want to make sure that every parks and recreation employee feels that too and that they know that they are valued and supported the way that I have been."
Greenberg said he believes King will lead the department with vision, strategy and dedication.
