Climbing gym opens new location in NuLu

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - There's a new place in Louisville to test your outdoor skills.

Climb NuLu opened Saturday on Market Street.

This is a bouldering-only climbing gym, meaning there are no ropes and it's lower to the ground.

You don't have to come with a climbing partner. You can just show up by yourself and climb at your own pace.

The owner says Louisville is an amazing market for this.

"There's actually a strong climbing community here because of the Red River Gorge, the outdoor climbing area that's a few hours away toward eastern Kentucky," owner Joe Anderson said. "And NuLu is just such a vibrant young cool neighborhood, I really felt like it was the right place."

There's a special this weekend, so $8 covers your shoe rental and orientation.

This is the company's third location. The other two are in Bloomington and Indianapolis.
