LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville parkgoers will soon have a new playground to visit at Iroquois Park.

Louisville Parks and Recreation shared renderings of the new Iroquois Playground on social media Monday. Officials said construction on the space is set to begin this fall.

The city said the playground is being designed with "fun, safety and inclusivity" in mind. The playground will feature spaces for younger and older children and also include low-sensory areas.

Community investment was a large part of the approved city budget, which includes $4.4 million for park maintenance.

Anyone interested in learning more about the new playground can stop by the South End Community Market Saturday morning in Iroquois Park to ask questions and see the renderings up close.
