LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 15-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint and shot in the hand in southern Jefferson County Tuesday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD responded to a shooting near Standiford Plaza Drive and Beeler Way, near Preston Highway and the Bullitt County line, around 7:30 p.m. Police said a 15-year-old told an officer he was robbed at gunpoint and shot in the hand.
The boy ran home and that's when police were notified, according to LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders. Police believe the robbery and shooting occurred nearby.
According to Sanders, the teenager was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are calling it a "graze wound." Sanders said it was Louisville's 67th non-fatal shooting in 2025, compared to 93 non-fatal shootings at this time last year.Â
