17-year-old dies after shooting in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 17-year-old died after a shooting in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood Tuesday.

Louisville Metro Police officers were called to the 300 block of Poplar Level Court around 5:40 p.m. on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders said.

Officers responding to the scene found the teenage boy, who had been shot in the torso, Sanders said. He was taken to UofL Hospital where he died.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Wednesday as Dunia Tuhenya.
