LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man in connection to a deadly shooting last month.
Wednesday, LMPD arrested William Irvin, 18, and charged him with murder. LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said Irvin was arrested on a warrant after a foot pursuit with police in the 1400 block of Dixie Highway.
On Friday, Sept. 13, around 2:30 p.m. police responded to the 1600 block of Dixie Highway in Louisville's Algonquin neighborhood on a report of a shooting. Police on scene found 18-year-old Jerrick Young, who had been shot, LMPD Spokesperson John Bradley said at the time.
Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses at the scene told WDRB News Young was leaving JJ Food Mart when he was shot and killed.
Irvin pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Thursday. A judge set his bond at $500,000 cash. His next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 18.
