LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two juveniles were shot outside of Pleasure Ridge Park High School during a football game against Male Sunday night.

John Bradley, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded on a trouble run at 7:15 p.m. JCPS security officers requested LMPD to help with crowd control.

Shots were fired in the parking lot area just past 8 p.m. and police found a boy who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to UofL Hospital and has critical injuries.

A second juvenile victim then showed up to Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, but his injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.

The game was suspended after the shooting and players were escorted to their locker rooms. Spectators were asked to leave.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating but there are no suspects.

Police believe the suspects fled through the residential area near the high school. They're asking asking nearby residents to review their home surveillance systems for any possible footage.

Anyone in the area at the time or who may have information, is asked to leave an anonymous tip on the LMPD crime tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or click here to use the online crime tip portal.

A letter sent to families can be read below:

Dear Bulldog and Panther Families,

"Tonight, gunshots were fired in the parking lot during our football game at PRP High School. JCPS Police officers at the game quickly responded to the parking lot, and LMPD was called. Many fans moved under the stands while players were escorted to the locker room for their safety. We are aware of at least one person being wounded. The game was suspended, and people were ordered to leave the premises once JCPS Police and LMPD secured the area.

We do not tolerate violence in any form. As a community, we must work together to support one another. If your student would like to talk with someone about what happened, our counseling and mental health teams are always available."

Thank you,
