LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A series of raids in Louisville resulted in the seizure of 70 pounds of meth and enough fentanyl to kill 1,200 people.

In addition to the drugs, police said they found at least 12 guns, half of which were stolen. One of those guns was used in a homicide.

Police searched 10 locations in Louisville last weekend and made nine arrests. Two indictments charged the suspects with drug trafficking-related offenses, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky.

  • Reginald Forsythe, 46, of Louisville
  • Damon Lewis, 50, of Louisville
  • Timothy McAtee, 46, of Louisville
  • James Henderson, 70, of Louisville
  • Crystal Adams, 54, of Louisville
  • Isaiah Washington, 43, of Louisville
  • Chelsea Brown, 42, of Louisville
  • James Leffler, 38, of Louisville

"Our investigators identified and dismantled a drug trafficking organization that has been flooding our streets with dangerous drugs, fueling violence in our city and putting lives at risk," Jim Scott, with the Louisville Division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, said during a news conference Thursday.

The busts were reportedly linked to a drug ring that has allegedly been funneling drugs from Detroit to Louisville. The ring is also accused of money laundering.

Forsythe was also charged with one count of money laundering.

"I assure you, we are investigating the violent element of this town," U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner said. "We know who you are and we are coming for you."

According to a news release, the "drug conspiracy and money laundering activity" allegedly happened between Sept. 3, 2024, and Jan. 7, 2026.

Washington, Brown and Leffler were charged in the second indictment with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 or more grams of meth.

"This case shows what coordinated enforcement can accomplish," Col. Steve Healey, with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, said in a news release. "While this was a federally-led investigation, it  directly aligns with the work our deputies are doing every day locally, targeting fentanyl and other dangerous drugs before they harm our community."

A Homeland Security task force made up of local, state, and federal law enforcement coordinated the bust.

The suspects have already made their initial federal court appearances. If convicted, each suspect faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison. They will be sentenced by a federal district court judge. There is no parole in the federal system.
