LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police arrested a suspect after a man was shot in Fern Creek Thursday night.
In a news release, LMPD said its Non-Fatal Shooting Squad arrested 62-year-old Eliener Marquez Rodriguez and charged him with second degree assault.
Police were called to the 5900 block of Shelby Street about 10:20 p.m. on a report of a shooting, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with "multiple gunshot wounds."
Bradley said the man was taken to University of Louisville hospital, and at this time, is expected to survive.Â
According to an arrest report, the victim, who was shot in the shoulder and abdomen, showed detectives a picture of the person who shot him.
Police said Marquez traveled to a location on Outer Loop and turned himself in. Investigators said he was read his Miranda rights, and during an interview confessed to shooting the victim twice.Â
