LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 33-year-old bank teller stole almost $10,000 from a woman with dementia, according to court documents.

An arrest citation alleges Hannahniah De Jesus, of Shepherdsville, frequently assisted a woman at a bank on New Cut Road in the Iroquois neighborhood. De Jesus assisted an 83-year-old woman who suffers from dementia.

The woman had a large balance in her checking and savings account. De Jesus filled out withdraw and deposit slips for the woman, but didn't provide the appropriate cash back, which was record on surveillance cameras.

De Jesus was questioned by bank officials and provided a false story, according to court documents. Police said De Jesus also visited the woman at her home as well.

The bank reimbursed the elderly woman for the funds, and sustained a financial loss of $9,990.
