LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are investigating after a child was shot near the city's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood.
The shooting was reported around 9:35 p.m. Thursday in the 6500 block of Don Bon Court, Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Adam Sears said in a statement. That's off Santa Fe Trail and Lower Hunters Trace, near the Greenbelt Highway.
Once on scene, police found a child who had been shot. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to Norton Children's Hospital. Sears said the child was "alert and conscious" when being transported.
Police did not provide the age of the victim. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are also unknown at this time.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, but has no suspects and has made no arrests.
LMPD is asking those who live in the area or were there at the time and may have video on their phone or home surveillance to give them a call.
