LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 12-year-old boy who died at the hospital after a shooting in Louisville's Phoenix Hill neighborhood last week has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Justin Johnson died from a gunshot wound on June 27.
Louisville Metro Police responded to the shooting around 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South Shelby Street, near East Madison and East Chestnut streets, an LMPD spokesperson said at the time.
Once on scene, police found a juvenile male, identified as Johnson, with a gunshot wound. Police attempted life-saving measures at the scene before the 12-year-old was taken to University Hospital where he died, LMPD said.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is still investigating, but at last check had no suspects and had made no arrests.
