LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersonville man is facing numerous felony charges after police searched his home and allegedly found evidence of child exploitation.
Caleb Hawes, 30, was arrested June 4 by Jeffersonville police after receiving tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to a news release.
The investigation started in March with Jeffersonville's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) following up on information indicating Hawes was using an unnamed messaging app account to send pornographic videos of children.
During the investigation, detectives identified a residence on Main Street associated with the account and got a search warrant, which was executed on June 4 by Indiana State Police. During the search investigators seized digital devices and other evidence.
The evidence was reviewed and Hawes was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, with additional charges pending.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges and was released on $5,000 bond, according to court records.
Following further review of the evidence seized from Hawes' residence, the Clark County Prosecutor's Office added 20 additional counts of possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty to those charges on July 14.
Hawes remains free on his original $5,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 23.
