LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were arrested after a major drug bust in Jeffersontown last week, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD said detectives from the Violent Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Stone Spring Way, near Hurstbourne Parkway.
According to LMPD, this investigation started because of an anonymous tip from the community through its tip line, 574-LMPD.
Police said they arrested Clayton Jones, 21, and Athena Smith, 20, both of Louisville.Â

Police seized around 50 pounds of marijuana, more than 1,000 THC vape pens and cartridges, more than 10 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, several pounds of THC wax and edibles, ledgers showing large-scale trafficking operation and large amounts of cash, according to LMPD. Police said this was approximately $50,000 worth of drugs.
While police executed this search warrant in Jeffersontown, this remains an LMPD case, not Jeffersontown police.Â
"LMPD received the tip on that case, so they ran with it, which is perfectly normal," Jeffersontown Police Detective Mike Lauder said Tuesday. "We have such a good working relationship with LMPD. We know they need to come into J-Town for things on their investigations and vice versa."
Lauder said Jeffersontown detectives have talked with LMPD about the case.
"We know all the people involved in the case that Metro just worked, and we'll obviously focus and look back and see if there's anything that can branch out of that case that we can follow up on within Jeffersontown," he said. "Because anything like that, that's a significant case, and we obviously want to know about it and, we'll do everything we can on our end to follow up on it."
Jones and Smith both face charges of Trafficking marijuana, multiple charges of Trafficking in a controlled substance and buying possessing drug paraphernalia.Â
Both are scheduled back in court Jan. 16.Â
Louisville Metro Police have not release information including the names of the suspects.
