LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police is asking for the public's help in locating a man they believe crashed a stolen car into a home near Pleasure Ridge Park on Saturday.

LMPD spokesman Matthew Sanders said officers responded to a car vs. a building in the area of St. Andrews Church Road and Arnoldtown Road shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Police said witnesses told dispatch the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Officers found the vehicle "partially inside of a home" and the family inside weren't injured.

According to LMPD, the vehicle was confirmed stolen recently. Due to speed and weather, the driver lost control of the vehicle which caused him to hit a pole then the home.

Officers couldn't locate the suspect but witnesses claimed the suspect possibly threw evidence in water nearby. Around 7:30 p.m. Sanders said LMPD's Dive Team found a gun in the water.

Police said the suspect is possibly a white male with dark hair in a ponytail and is wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants.
