LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 43-year-old Indiana man was arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to Madison Police Department.
Police responded to a shooting in Madison on Saturday and identified a suspect quickly. Mark N. Swafford, of Cross Plains, was arrested after a short pursuit close to where he lives.
The victim in the shooting is expected to recover. Police said the shooting was an isolated but targeted incident.
"We are pleased to have made an arrest in this case and are grateful for the assistance of our law enforcement partners," Chief Shawn Scudder said in a Facebook post. "We want to reassure the public that we take all crimes seriously and will work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice."
Swafford was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and battery.
