LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Clarksville teacher was arrested and is facing charges that include child solicitation and possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, Connor Page had an initial hearing Friday and pleaded not guilty to the charges of possession of child pornography (attempted), child solicitation of a victim 14-16 years old and vicarious sexual gratification involving victims under 16 but over 13.
In November 2024, the family of the alleged victim filed a civil suit against Page and Clarksville school officials.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Clarksville Police believe Page committed the offenses between December 2023 and May 2024.
Clarksville Middle School Principal Dr. Nikki Bullington told police she was informed by a staff member that Page was having sexual and inappropriate communication with an eighth grader who was in his math class, documents claim.
Court documents state that Page would contact the victim on social media and he'd wait in his car for her to get off the bus.Â
A forensic interview on May 6, 2024, revealed that the communications started over email and the school blocked their emails because the school told both of them separately that "they were inappropriately and excessively emailing one another."
The lawsuit claims that Page pressured the victim into sending explicit photos and videos and that Bullington along with Counselor Becky Bilsland failed to act on the alleged behavior despite being aware of it.
Page's next hearing has been scheduled for April 2.
Clarksville Community Schools released the following statement:
"It has been brought to our attention that charges have been filed against a former employee of the school district. When the initial allegations were brought to our attention, we immediately reported to law enforcement and the Department of Child Services, and the staff member in question was removed from the building. He submitted his resignation at the onset of the investigation and before the district could take further action. The well-being of our students is our highest priority, and we will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement as needed. No further comments will be made from the district at this time."
