LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested in southern Indiana on Wednesday after New Jersey authorities asked for assistance to serve an arrest warrant for possession of child pornography.Â
Indiana State Troopers at the Pendleton post were contacted by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and notified that the suspect — 70-year-old Robert Flynn, of Ridgewood, New Jersey — was living at a residence in the 6000 block of Woodchuck Drive in Pendleton, according to a news release.Â
When officers arrived at the residence just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, Flynn saw officers at the front door and ran out the rear of the residence. Officers were waiting behind the residence and attempted to take Flynn into custody, but he allegedly became "physically resistant." That's when a state trooper used a department issued Taser to gain control of Flynn and prevent further use of force.
Flynn was checked out by EMS and taken to St. Vincent Anderson Hospital before he was booked into the Madison County jail. No officers were injured during the struggle.
Flynn is facing several charges, including resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and possession of child pornography. He is expected to be extradited to New Jersey to face local charges there, ISP said.Â
