LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 33-year-old man charged with stabbing his father to death was in court Friday, where a judge set his bond at $500,000 full cash.Â
Eddieser Machin is charged with murder - domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence.Â
He was arrested not long after police responded to a report of a stabbing around 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Quiet Way, between Preston Highway and Poplar Level Road, in the Newburg neighborhood.Â
That's where responding officers found the victim with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
According to an arrest citation, witnesses at the scene told police the victim and Machin were arguing over "concerns of the suspect cooking safely in the house and was told to cook outside instead."
Police said a witness who was in the home at the time said he heard the victim and Machin arguing and went upstairs, where he saw Machin lifting weights in the backyard before coming back upstairs and into his room.Â
Less than an hour later, the witness told police he heard the victim's wife and mother-in-law screaming outside, where the victim was found stabbed to death, the arrest report said.
Officers responding to the scene found Machin in his room with suspected blood on his shoes and clothing. He was taken to LMPD's Homicide Unit for questioning. Police then obtained a search warrant and searched the home where they found "what appeared to be the possible murder weapon" with suspected blood on it under the mattress of the same room they found Machin in previously.
