LOUIVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Glasgow man is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot a woman and set fire to the home they were in. 

It happened May 20, according to a news release from the Glasgow Police Department. That's when officers responded to a reported in a residence in the 100 block of McGraw Avenue. 

Officers arrived to find a "a female victim" with gunshot wounds to the head and arm, according to the release. Police said the suspect, identified as Shane Reece, remained inside the residence for a short time before setting a fire in the bedroom area of the residence. Reece was arrested as he exited a back door. 

The victim was taken to T.J. Samson Hospital and later transferred to UofL Health Hospital in Louisville. There's no word on her condition. 

Reece, 58, is facing several charges, including attempted murder - domestic violence, arson, wanton endangerment, and torture of a dog or cat. No further information is available on the latter charge. 

Reece remains jailed in the Barren County Detention Center with no bond. He is due to appear in court on May 22.
